about

My career began as a part time artist living in Boulder, Colorado, as a member of a studio with 20+ artists. In 2008, I moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado with my husband of 32 years, where I have been blessed to be able to spend more time in my studio, working as a full time artist.

My compositions are changing all the time; however, landscapes are frequent subject matter in my works of late. Pieces are often conceptualized through photography; traveling around the Yampa Valley capturing the beauty that lies before me often provides inspiration to begin a painting. I sift through many photos to piece together a composition, and what starts out on my canvas may well emerge as something vastly different at completion. Even despite this transformation, I aim to maintain the lively and vibrant abstract energy that fueled my original inspiration—a type of intangible emotion I hope viewers can likewise experience.
